B & H Engineering has furnished construction inspection services to the New York Department of Transportation for the reconstruction of three kilometers of the Harlem River Drive.
The Harlem River Drive is a six-lane divided highway in Manhattan, New York. The project site is located from 127th Street to Washington Street, excluding 142nd Street to 160th Street.
The construction inspection services consisted of providing field inspections; monitoring maintenance and protection of traffic, and safety; coordination with NYCDOT agencies, other contractors, utilities, and Yankee Stadium; A+B Bidding, reviewing contractor's CPM schedule, equipment and staffing; monitoring contractor's EEO requirements; conducting wage rate interviews; processing payments and change orders; maintaining office records; metrics; and night work.
The contract included the following work: milling of existing asphalt pavement, full depth pavement repair at transverse joints and mid-slab areas, rapid set concrete, new asphalt pavement, drainage structure adjustments, replacing existing damaged curbing, repairing damaged guide railing, replacing guide railing with concrete barrier, replacing lamp posts and luminaires, restriping along main roadway and ramps, and MPT on local streets.
