Goethals Bridge <br>New York Approach<br>1998 Biennial Inspection



B & H Engineering, P.C. has performed the 1998 Biennial Inspection of the Goethals Bridge 43 Spans New York Approach and the Facility's Buildings for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

The biennial inspection included:

  • Review of existing BIN folder
  • Inspection and ratings for members and their paint condition
  • Preparation of inspection
  • Quality control
  • Review on reports
  • Inspection documentation
  • Planning and scheduling inspection
  • Inventory verification
  • Coordinating inspection with on-going construction contracts
  • Planning and requesting lane closures
  • Procuring access equipment necessary for inspection
  • Providing and monitoring
  • Maintenance and protection of traffic.

The Inspection Report included the following:

  • Condition Summary
  • Inspection Findings and Photographs
  • Updating Plans
  • Sketches in Lieu of Plans
  • Summary of Major Deficiencies
  • Primary Member Ratings
  • Details or Situation Requiring Special Attention During
  • Inspection
  • Inventory
  • Flag Reports and CADD Drafting using Autocad 12.
  • Also included is the creation of a CD-ROM containing the Inspection Report.
