B & H Engineering, P.C, is performing the vulnerability study of concrete details, as a subconsultant to Frederic R. Harris, for the New York State Department of Transportation. The project consist of 450 bridges located throughout Region 11.

This vulnerability study includes identification of concrete bridge components that are prone to failure and which may affect the integrity of the structure.
Concrete bridge substructure elements evaluated include pier columns, pier caps, solid stem piers, pier bents with piles and hammerhead piers. Concrete superstructure types assessed include arches, box culverts, prestressed members, rigid frames, and T-beams
The work for this project includes: Field inspection of concrete; Preparation of vulnerability assessment reports and structural integrity evaluation (SIE) reports; and Recommendations for retrofitting and/or replacement of components that are structurally vulnerable.
